#beonewiththeward September 16,2015

Oh man. So much to write so little time! So this week was fantastic! We have totally gained the trust of everyone on the Ward Council! They love us. We have done so many things to help that trust build! It has been amazing! We are working so well with our Ward Mission Leader and from that we have seen the work here in Lakewood skyrocket.

Maple Leaf suckers!  YUMMY!

Some other sweet things that happened this week was Elder Golden of the First Quorum of the Seventy came for Mission Conference! It was amazing! His main focus was trying to increase the number of baptisms in the mission. Everything he said hit home and helped me so much! It
was so great! He said so many times, "we cannot believe the publicities of Satan!" We CAN'T! He is so wrong! We need to trust our first thought! Our second thought is usually from Satan convincing us
not to do our first thought. Another thing he said was "if we are not exact we are not worthy of the power of God." That is a powerful statement! We have to be exactly obedient, especially as missionaries! Oh boy! It was such a good conference!!

Some news from our investigators: A is getting BAPTIZED!!!! On October 2nd! Wahoo! She is sooo excited she has made invitations and figured everything out already! We taught the Word of Wisdom this week and it was hilarious! After we taught them A and Ar did a dance for us! Haha so good!

We met with C and she is doing so great! We showed her a video called "Sunday Will Come" and she LOVED it! She took it literally and said that she needs to come back to church! It was an awesome lesson!

Yesterday we were able to meet with Z! It was an amazing lesson! We had a member with us and we read from the Book of Mormon. She is so in tune with the spirit and loves learning! Hopefully her and her two girls will be at church on Sunday!

We haven't been able to see T or S in a little while but they are doing good just super busy! We will see them this week!

K and N came to church again! We didn't meet with them last week but we are going to their house for dinner on Thursday!

Life is great here in Canada. It is September so apparently that means it is almost winter. All of the leaves are falling and it is definitely jacket weather. :/ someone told is it is supposed to snow
this weekend. We don't think it will. Well at least we are hoping it won't. All of my winter stuff is still packed away..I don't want to get it out yet.

GUESS WHERE I WAS...The District!

 Well I love you all!

Tender Mercies! September 8, 2015

Hello! Well today is the first day of school in Edmonton so welcome to school zones. Everywhere.  Can I just say that I don't like Canadian school zones. They aren't like Utah when they have flashing lights going only during pick up and drop off times. No, they go from 8-4 everyday.

Anyways off that tangent and on to my week! This week was great, as per usual. So many little tender mercies! Such as, N and K. So I don't remember if I told you a back story so bear with me if I did. N is a less active member who has been a member his whole life. He went inactive over 20 years ago. He and K have both been divorced before and they married each other in their late 50's, early60's. In the beginning of August N decided that he was going to start coming to church again. He said he has been thinking about it for years. He has come every single week since he made that decision and K has been coming with him. They invited us to come over every Thursday for supper and a lesson. N is a world class chef. His food is sooooo amazing! He cooked as head chef for Circus Circus for like 20 years! Yum! This last week we started teaching K. It was a super good lesson! On Sunday N bore his testimony! It was amazing!! He said that he had a dream about baptizing his wife <3 after sacrament meeting he was talking to a member of the bishopric (the same one who laughed at us all of sacrament meeting last week as we babysat A and Ar)  and he looked at us and he said that we were two of his favourite people in the whole world. Ah man I just love them so so much!! I have seen so many miracles associated with them. Especially that guess what? Their records were in St. Albert and we stopped by them so many times and then we figured out they had moved. They lived in Southern Alberta for a year then moved to Millwoods. Miracles!!

Miracles Happen September 1, 2015

Hello! This week was super good! Sister H is amazing! I love her so much! She is from Fallon, Nevada and has been out for 10 months! We have been working super hard
and we have seen so many miracles!!

Sis. H and I

So now on to a funny story. Sister H and I were asked to be the greeters for the day at church and so when the meeting started we sat right by the door. And we saw A walk into church!! So we walked
into the foyer to meet her. Her grandpa, who is a member, brought her and her little brother Ar. A hugged me and then Ar, whom I have never met, hugged me as well. So we walked into sacrament
meeting and sat down only to find out that their grandpa sat at the back of the chapel and we were stuck with A and Ar, a 9 year old and a 6 year old... Oh boy. So the announcements ended and we
started singing the opening hymn. Half way through the song I knew we were in trouble. There was no way these two kids were gonna sit still the entire sacrament meeting. Haha so I got my thinking cap on and tried to think of things I could do to keep them occupied. So after the opening prayer I asked Ar to find a hymn number 210 in the hymnbook. That kept him occupied for about 2 minutes. Sister missionaries are not equipped to entertain kids quietly for an hour so we got creative. So I gave him some stickers, he colored in my planner, we played "I Spy", he watched the Restoration silently on my iPad, he tried to download some games (haha not on a missionary iPad),and took some pictures with Photo Booth. And probably more. Don't ask me what the talks were about because I have no idea but I do know that a member of the bishopric had a good laugh the entire time!
I can definitely wait to be a mother.

Yesterday we did our booth again but we did it a little differently.
There was 6 missionaries there, so we sang hymns with a guitar while one sister talked to people. It was super fun! It wasn't as successful as our other booth #peoplelikelemonade but it was still really good and a lot of people enjoyed the singing!

Also miracles happened this week!! Here is one: we went over to C's on Sunday night and we were able to talk to her husband, S, for a good chunk of time. Especially considering it was about
fishing and golf, both of which I have zero interest in. But S has never really talked to the Sisters until the last couple months! And he invited us over for his birthday supper! Wahoo! During supper he tried to set me up with his son...he even ambushed hugged me and we have some inside jokes now. You could say we are pretty tight. "Miracles happen once in a while, when you believe!"

Well I hope y'all have a good week! S/O to my amazing parents who have
been married for 25 years this week!!  Love ya!
