Miracles!

This week was great! (Just like every other week, haha). But really. It was fabulous! We met with Patty and had amazing discussions about the Book of Mormon and the Holy Ghost! We took a member with us and they are like BFF's and she came to church and LOVED it. We are meeting with her again this week possibly twice. Patty loves the Book of Mormon and the feeling she gets when she is reading it. I am so excited to help her progress in the Gospel!

We met with Heidi and Joy again and made Christmas Sugar Cookies! We taught Joy about the Restoration. Heidi has been a member most of her life but she question the Gospel so she researched it in the wrong places. So she has some skewed ideas of things. So as we taught Joy, Heidi told her her opinions. It was good to have Joy know what her mom believes and we were able to help her resolve some concerns, but it is going to take a little while to help Heidi. I love them so much! They invited us over for Christmas! Next time we drive up to Morinville we are going to show them the Restoration DVD! I will take pictures next time we are there!

The drive out to Morinville, where Heidi and Joy live, is like 30-40 minutes away!  It feels like we are in an outlying area!  It is such a small town.  It reminds me of Ephraim!  So cute!

We were having a lesson at the church and as we were walking into the church this drove up.  It was Blaine Van Bruggen.  He was the member coming to our lesson.  He honked the horn and scared me so bad!  I thought it was hilarious.  Only in Canada do members come to investigator lessons in this.

It is super snowy here in Canada.  I love it!  Which is surprising.  I thought I would hate the snow.  It hasn't been super cold yet so that is probably why I don't mind it.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are not having Thanksgiving this week it was back in October. I was hoping that a member would offer to make us Thanksgiving but no one did so we will just have regular supper that day. :)

Me and my Donair last week.  I love Donairs!  Utah needs to get them!  (Donairs are kind of like a gyro only made with ground beef and seasonings, sliced thin and served on a warm pita with tomatoes, cucumbers and a creamy garlic sauce.)

Guess what I have a new best friend!! Ronald! He is so cute!

He is the small heart shaped one!  Heidi gave them to us and I am so excited!!  I will have to show you the growth of Ronald throughout my mission!

I hope you all have a great week!!!  Love you!

Another Awesome Week!

This week was super great! Sister Gunnell and I are just rocking the missionary work together! We contacted so many less actives that the ward doesn't know! It is so amazing! Everyone was so willing to meet with us last week! Hopefully they continue to have an open heart! The miracles happening in Sturgeon are amazing! The ward is really pumped about missionary work and they are so willing to come with us to lessons and give us referrals!

Sis. Burton and Sis. Gunnell

This week we met with a Less Active in the Mission Hill Ward who lives in Morinville, which is like 30 minutes from St. Albert! Haha I don't know why it was so exciting to go out there but it was!! Heidi is the less actives name and she has a little girl who is not a member named Joy she is 11. We made cupcakes with Joy and chatted about the New Testament.

Fun in the Church Library making copies!

My iPod stopped working a while ago but it is working again! I am so happy! Missionary work with music is so much better than missionary work without. :)

Sunday Stewardship calls with the District Leader

Sister Gunnell are going to buy matching Pajama pants and create a companion Christmas Card :) Hopefully we will still be together for Christmas! Transfers are the week before so hopefully we stay together 2 transfers!

Cool Alberta Train Car

I can't get over how amazing this week was! We set up so many appointments for last week and this week as well! There were a couple days when we had appointments from 2 pm-8pm! It is amazing! We have never seen that much success in this area! And everything is just getting better! Heavenly Father is really preparing the people in the Sturgeon Area! We just need to find them!

Cool Building in Edmonton

Adrienne and Kalen set up an appointment with us but not until January 8...haha Kalen said, "This is going to sound really pathetic but we are busy until the New Year. So how does January 8 at 7:00 sound??" haha I said that that sounds great. Hopefully I am still here! We talked to Cali and she was so willing to let us come over this week! We are going over Friday. We are in charge of Young Womens/Young Mens this week so hopefully we can get her to come to that! Patty missed our appointment on Thursday :( and she won't answer our calls.

Smarties in Canada are chocolate.  Rockets in Canada are American Smarties

This week was Remembrance Day. Everyone wears little Poppies on their shirts. We went to the Parade. Which was out in front of City Hall and all the Veterans and active members walk down the street and everyone claps. Then we all sang "O, Canada" together and they had a little program. It was freezing outside but it was sooo cool to see the Canadian Pride! I love Canadians! And I love the song "O, Canada!" We sing it at every transfer meeting and Zone Conference! I have it memorized! :) Not much is new. I know there is a lot to say but I am drawing a blank, haha :) Have a fantastic week!! I love you all!
Car ride fun!

Transfer 3

Wow! I cannot believe that I am already in Transfer 3! That is nuts! Where did the time go? It is super weird to be without Sister Budge but I love Sister Gunnell! We get along so great! We laugh a lot!! She is so funny!

Saying Goodbye to Sis. Budge

This week was crazy! Monday and Tuesday we said Goodbye's to everyone Sister Budge wanted to. And then Wednesday was Transfer meeting! I have been trying to introduce Sister Gunnell to everyone! It is such a good excuse to stop by someone's house!

I was super nervous to introduce someone into an area but it hasn't been bad! I am so glad I stayed here in Sturgeon! I love it too much!!

Sis. Burton and Sis. Gunnell

This week we talked to Adrienne and Kalen, Charissa, and Cali. And we met with Patty! Things are really picking up in Sturgeon! I am so excited for this week! Sister Gunnell and I are pumped for the amazing things happening in the area!! This week is going to be fabulous!

Sis. Burton, Patty, Sis. Budge at the Rock Garden

I finally tried a very Canadian food. Donairs. It was fabulous! I loved it!!! Poutine on the other hand is disgusting! haha :)

I don't have much else to say except it is freezing here! Snow will be on the ground until May and tomorrow is Remembrance Day. Canadians love Remembrance day! It is a super big holiday!

Came home today and the door knob to our hallway is broken.
I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week! I know we will!!

Happy Halloween and Transfers!

I am staying in Sturgeon! Sister Budge is being transferred for her last transfer out to Edson! My new companion is Sister Gunnell. Transfer Meeting is on Wednesday so I will meet her then! I am so excited! I hate change but at the same time I am so ready!!! I am really sad Sister Budge is leaving but she has been in the same zone her whole mission so I think she is ready to go Outlying for her last 6 weeks!

Halloween was pretty good :) We had to be in our apartment by 6 o'clock so we read Ensign's, talked, and watched the Testaments, then went to sleep early. Super exciting Halloween! haha :) That morning we helped at Seminary at 6:30 in the morning. It was super fun! We had breakfast and took District pictures! They are super funny and totally explain our district.

Yesterday Sister Budge and I helped out at Mission Prep. Mission Prep here is so useful! haha :) They learn to teach the lessons and practice teaching. Nothing like my Mission Prep was. It was super fun to help them practice and repractice and give them pointers. It is crazy to see how far I have come in 3 short months.

We didn't get to meet with any of our investigators this week. Everyone in St. Albert is just sooo busy. It is a fast pace town. No one has time for us. Hopefully this week we will be able to meet with Adrienne and Kalen, Cali, Patty, and Charissa!

The members in the Sturgeon ward are so great! They give us member referrals almost every week! It is fabulous! I love it here! I am so glad I get to stay for at least another 6 weeks!

I don't have much to say nor much time left. But I love you all!
