Winter Has Begun...

Well we had a super nice fall but winter has now begun. I am always cold. None of the Canadians are. They haven`t started wearing coats yet so I want to fit in so I don`t either. Haha. It is my own fault that I am cold.

It is Week 6. I can`t even believe it! I am almost done with training! Hooray! I love training but I am done with it! haha. This week was really good! We met with a lot of less actives and had a lesson with Cali! Our new investigator! She is 13 years old and is super interested! Her family is not religious at all but she is! We taught her Lesson 1 (The Restoration) and every thing we said made sense to her! She was going to come to church yesterday but I think her phone died so she didn`t get our texts. But we are going to bring her to Young Womens on Thursday hopefully! There is only one Beehive in the ward so the Beehive Adviser is super excited!

We are meeting with Adrienne and Kalen tomorrow! It has been so long since we met with them last! I am really excited! I hope it goes well! Patty gets home from Montreal tomorrow so hopefully we can meet with her on Thursday! I want to ask her about the Book of Mormon because when we gave it to her she was soooo excited! She loved the Index. haha.

We are trying to find all the lost sheep in the ward so we go on splits with the Relief Society President and her 1st Counselor every week! It is really good! We get to know a lot more Less Actives and so does the ward!

Don`t worry Mom I got my flu shot on Saturday! Because we are missionaries we got them for free. (I don`t really know why...) But they were free!

Today we woke up to snow. It snowed a little bit last night but I thought that it would go away but it didn`t. When Sister Budge opened the curtains and I saw the snow I started singing the Snow Bear song. Mom you have engrained that in my brain. haha :)

This week was great! But this next week is going to be even better! We are really focusing on Finding new investigators!

Love you!

Moving, moving, moving

I am getting so buff! This week we moved people 3 times. On Thursday us and the Elders went to a less active families house in Mission Hill to put all of their stuff in U-Haul. Then Friday the Elders helped us moved back into our old apartment. Then later that day we helped the family unpack the U-Haul and put all the boxes sorted into their new house. I carried boxes for 2 days straight. My arms are very sore! But it was super fun! We got to know the family, which was good because they moved into our ward.

I am pretty sure this week was cancel on the Sister's week. We had so many lessons set up but almost everyone cancelled on us. It was crazy! But we still saw so much success this week!
We met with Patty again and she told us about her experience at church. She loved the last half of Sacrament and Gospel Principles (Sunday School) but didn't really like Relief Society. I feel bad saying this but I don't really blame her. It was the weirdest lesson. I am not really sure what it was even about. But Patty said she will try it again! She didn't come to church yesterday. I am not sure why. We called her twice and she never answered. I am pretty sure she forgot. And she doesn't have a cell phone so we can only call her home phone and she isn't home much. She is going to Montreal this week so we can't meet with her nor can she come to church, but we will see her next week when she gets home!

This week me and Sister Budge did the Training at District Meeting! We talked about Our Purpose as Missionaries and how it relates to the Plan of Salvation! It was super clever and informative! I enjoyed it, I hope the Elders did, too!
On Saturday we got a call from the Belmead Ward Sisters telling us that they had a Potential for us who wanted to come to church. So we got his name and phone number and called him. We wanted to come to church and we set him up with a ride. Yesterday we got to church and he was there! Turns out he is a member. He has a super thick accent so no one could really understand him. Luckily, there are some French speakers in our ward so they talked to him and welcomed him into the ward. Haha sometimes that language barrier really gets in the way! We thought he was super interested in learning more! Haha. But his wife is not a member so we are going to go to their house and meet with her and see if she is interested!

A sign that says "We miss hating the summer heat".

Yesterday at church a member stopped us and told us he had a Potential Investigator for us! He is fantastic! This is the fourth person he has given us! He gave us her number and told us he talked to her for 2 1/2 hours the night before about the gospel. We called her and she new exactly who we were and was more than willing to set up and appointment with us for Wednesday! It was super cool to see! Even after a super slow week we still saw miracles left and right!

Continue looking for miracles!

Happy Thanksgiving! (Canadian Style)

This week was super great! Our lesson with Patty last week was amazing! She felt the spirit and thought everything we were teaching her made sense! She is fantastic! She wanted to meet again soon so we set up an appointment for last Wednesday! We were going to meet her at the church to do a chapel tour and she never showed up.. We were super confused. She seemed so interested. Turns out she is the most forgetful person on this planet. We set up another appointment for Saturday to do a chapel tour and go to a baptism. She forgot. She said she would come to church. She forgot. On Sunday we figured she would forget so we decided to call her 15 minutes after sacrament meeting started, I felt prompted to call her. That Holy Ghost really knows what he is doing! She had forgotten but she was totally willing to put her beer in the fridge and come to church. (We haven't had the Word of Wisdom Lesson yet, it will come :)). So she came to church! And she liked it!  She said she wants to come next week! She commented in Sunday School and Relief Society! And she was typing questions she had in her phone for us to answer after! She is fantastic and I love her and her willingness despite the forgetfullness!

We went on exchanges this week! I stayed in Sturgeon and Sister Yergensen came! I was super nervous to be the only one who new the area but it was great! Sooo many miracles happened that day!!! I have been super nervous for transfers because I think Sister Budge will go somewhere else and I will stay here but I am not so nervous anymore! I can handle it! :) God works in mysterious ways! He is one smart fellow.

We had two Thanksgiving suppers! One of Sunday and one of Monday! It was delicious. Basically the same as the States. Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and family :)

We didn't get a chance to meet with Adrienne and Kalen, Charissa, or Dallas. But we have appointments set up to meet with them! The work has really progressed in Sturgeon, especially in the last few weeks!

Heavenly Father blesses us so much! I have always known that but I don't think I was ever really looking for the blessings!

I have heard so much about Family Home Evening in the past couple weeks! And even though I am not able to be home to do it with my family I encourage you to really try to do family home evening every week!

Love you all!

I Love General Conference!

This week was great! I loved General Conference! Our district got together at the St. Albert Chapel and watched it on one of the churches TV's through the internet! We got the couches from the Foyers and the Chairs from the Mother's Lounge! It was a great conference! (Yes the Elders did Stadium seating to the back couch. I refused to sit on it.)

The District's General Conference Set Up

Next Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving! I am so excited! We are going to the Leduc's for supper which is fantastic because I love them! It is weird to see all the Thanksgiving decorations go up before Halloween. Because it is Thanksgiving I won't be emailing until Tuesday :)

Every week we do service at the Rock Garden. This week we went and Patty was the only one there. It was Sister Budge's birthday so Adrienne made her a cake but she had to leave so Sister Budge, Patty, and I ate it together. We were just chatting and Patty said, "So because the end of the season is coming, I knew I needed to get this out before I didn't see you anymore.." SHE WANTS TO LEARN MORE! She knew where our church was and wants to come! We are teaching her today and I could not be more excited! None of our investigators are progressing (they won't keep their commitments!), so Sister Budge and I were talking about how we can find people with real intent. And right after that chat we went to the Rock Garden and Patty has real intent! I am super excited I think she will be fantastic! She hasn't ever been religious but she wants to be. AHHH! I am soooo excited!

This week was Sister Budge's 21st birthday! We had two birthday parties for her at member's homes! I am so grateful that she is my companion! I love her so much! And we get along super well!

Happy 21st Birthday Sis. Budge!

A couple weeks ago I told you about Shawn and Candice who came to Stake Conference and found us. Well we taught them a lesson and it went so good! They are great! And they came to church!! While we were at church they talked to the Bishop. And guess what. They are not in our ward. They are in Mission Hill. The ward just next to us. They literally live right outside our ward boundary. So we passed them over to the Elders very reluctantly. So now it is a big joke in the ward council that we always find great investigators for Mission Hill. (We haven`t told them that Patty is in Mission Hill, but she is a sister request so we still get to teach her!)

I had a great week! I love being a missionary! I have seen the hand of the Lord in my life so many times that it is a little unbelievable but also very believable! Heavenly Father loves us so much and he wants to help us so much we just have to ask Him! And in his own ways and timing he will answer our prayers!

I love you all so much!

Temple Day!

Hello!

I got to go to the temple today! It was soooo great! It was a special session so it was just missionaries in the session! The temple is tiny so not many missionaries could go but it was great!
Sis Burton's cute desk

This week was great! We met with Adrienne and Kalen again and had supper at their house! We were there for 3 hours and just chatted and taught about Baptism. It was really good!

Last week we went to a members house and made little wheat bags to heat up and keep us warm they are my life saver! I sleep with them both every night! One by my feet and one in my arms! :)

We didn't get to meet with Charissa or Dallas last week but hopefully this week!

We had supper with the cutest family this week. They have a 7 year old and triplets that are 5. They are my favorite people ever! We have supper with them again this tonight! Not much has really happened this week so this letter is lame. But I love you all!

The Fields (cutest family ever)!
